THE WEALTH LOOP | WHAT SHOULD EQUITY MAKE POSSIBLE?
In DECIDE: No Decision Is Still a Decision, I return to a sentence that can sound bold until a life event makes it personal: "No decision is still a decision." A job offer can put the home's equity into focus. What should that equity support: a next home, breathing room between properties, less debt, a business, or the family you are moving with?
Before assigning that job, give the numbers context. Estimate net proceeds after costs; test the monthly carrying cost if dates slip; compare temporary housing with buying quickly; and mark what you still need to learn. A real estate broker can help assess the property plan. Bring tax, lending, legal, and investment questions to appropriately licensed specialists. A clear decision is informed and can remain flexible.
Explore DECIDE and ask yourself: if the home you are leaving has built equity, what future do you want that equity to open? I'm also inviting your suggestions for the next book we bring into the Wealth Loop.
